Why Buy Used

Carbon doesn't care how old it is.

Foil gear ages strangely. A front wing from three seasons ago flies exactly as well as it did on day one — the only thing that's changed is what someone will pay for it. Demo gear ages faster still, on paper, which is the whole opportunity here.

Everything on this page is ours. Demo kit from the brands we're authorised dealers for, ex-display stock, and coaching gear we've cycled out at the end of a season. We're not a classifieds page — nothing here has passed through a stranger's garage on the way to you.

Every listing carries one of these, plus photos of whatever the grade is describing. "Mint" and "hardly used" mean nothing on a classifieds page, so we don't use them. If something's been repaired, we did the repair, and the listing says where and how.

Barely Ridden

Demo kit, ex-display, or a few sessions in before someone changed their mind. Cosmetically near-new. You'll struggle to tell.

B
Properly Used

A season or two of real riding. Light scuffs, maybe a rail mark. Structurally sound, rides exactly as it should.

C
Well Loved

Visible wear, repaired dings, a bit of anodising gone. Priced for it. The gear works; the paint has a history.

D
Project

Needs work and we say so, in detail, in the listing. Cheap for a reason. Bring a sander and some optimism.

Stock depends entirely on what's come off the demo fleet lately, so there's usually one of each and no pattern to it. Worth checking back, or telling us what you're after so we can flag it when it lands.

Front & Rear Wings

The bulk of what comes off the demo fleet. Wings we've had people trying all season, from the brands we're authorised for — flown a lot, looked after properly, and still flying exactly as they should.

Boards

Prone, wing, downwind and SUP foil boards from the demo and coaching fleet. Beach-used, so expect honest wear. Any repair was done by us and is photographed and described.

Masts & Fuselages

Aluminium and carbon, various lengths. Ours have been rinsed after every session and stripped every winter, which is the difference between a used mast and a seized one.

Wings & Kites

Demo inflatables, handles and leashes. Bladders tested, seams checked, canopy held up to the light. School wings work hard, so the grade tells you exactly how hard.

Electric & Assist

Ex-demo Lift eFoils and assist gear, plus anything taken in through the Lift part-exchange programme. Battery cycle-count and health check go in every description.

Odds & Spares

Hardware kits, mast tracks, footstraps, covers, ex-display bits from brands we stock. The drawer of useful things. Cheap, and occasionally exactly what you needed.

How We List It

We tell you what's wrong with it.

Buying used foil gear from a stranger is mostly an exercise in trust. You can't see delam in a photo, you can't hear a bearing over a message thread, and "barely used" covers a lot of ground.

None of that applies here, because there is no stranger. We bought it, we rigged it, we rode it and we're the ones selling it. If we wouldn't put a customer on it, we don't list it — and if it needs work, that's in the description rather than hidden in the price.

Stripped and inspected

Masts off, hardware out, bolts checked for corrosion and thread wear. Carbon gets tapped for delam. Batteries get a health check.

Photographed as-is

Real light, every angle, close-ups of the wear. If there's a repair, you'll see the repair. No flattering crops.

Graded and written up

A grade, a plain-English description of what's happened to it, and what we'd use it for. Including when the answer is "learning".

Sold once, properly

One of each — when it's gone it's gone. Collect from Woolacombe or Menai, or we'll pack it well and ship it.

We part-exchange Lift gear against new Lift gear — that's the whole programme, and it exists because we're authorised dealers and know exactly what we're taking back. Other brands we'll happily advise on, but we don't take them in.
