One owner. It was us.
Every used item we sell has come off our own demo fleet, our authorised dealer stock, or the Lift part-exchange programme. No consignment, no classifieds, no gear we can't vouch for.
Ours first, then yours.
Three places our used stock comes from, and only one of them involves gear arriving from outside the club. It's a narrow supply, deliberately — it's what lets us describe every item properly.
Gear we buy so people can try it before they commit. It gets rigged, ridden and rinsed by us all season, then makes way for the next model year. Well used, well looked after, and we know every session it's had.
Ex-display and superseded stock from the brands we're official dealers for. Often barely touched — last year's colourway, an open box, a size we over-ordered. New gear that has simply stopped being new.
The one route where gear comes in from outside. As authorised Lift dealers we'll take a customer's Lift setup against a new Lift, service it, and put it back out here. Lift in, Lift out — no other brands.
Four steps. All of them ours.
Nothing goes up the day it comes off the water. Everything is checked on the bench first, and if we find something in that check it goes in the description rather than being quietly priced in.
Something reaches the end of its demo life, or a new model year lands. It stops going out with customers and goes onto the bench instead.
Masts off, hardware out, bolts checked for corrosion and thread wear. Carbon tapped for delam. Batteries get a cycle-count and a health check.
A grade from A to D, photos in real light including the marks, and a plain description of what it's done and what we'd use it for now.
Up on the site at a price that reflects the grade. One of each — when it's gone it's gone. Collect from Woolacombe or Menai, or we'll pack it well and ship it.
Lift in. Lift out.
We're authorised Lift dealers, which means we can service, warrant and confidently resell Lift gear — and only Lift gear. So that's the one range we take in part-exchange, and it comes off the price of a new Lift. Narrow, but it means we can be straight about what your setup is worth.
What qualifies
- Lift gear only — eFoils, boards, wings, masts and batteries. We're authorised Lift dealers, so it's the one range we can service, warrant and resell properly.
- Against a new Lift — the value comes off a new Lift purchase. It's a trade-up programme, not a buying service.
- Batteries that hold a charge — cycle count and health decide most of the number on an eFoil. We'll test it, and we'll show you the reading.
- Honest wear — scratched boards and scuffed wings are entirely fine. That's what used means.
- Repairs we can see — a properly done repair you've told us about is no problem at all.
- Complete setups — the easier it is for us to put straight back out, the better the number.
What doesn't
- Other brands — we're not being difficult. We can't service or stand behind gear we're not dealers for, so we won't take it in.
- Part-ex against anything else — Lift trades against Lift. It doesn't come off a board, a wing, or a coaching booking.
- Cash instead of credit — we don't buy gear outright and we don't sell on commission. Part-exchange is the whole programme.
- Swollen or dead batteries — we'll point you at a proper disposal route, but they carry no trade value.
- Structural damage — cracked mast bases, delaminated wings, snapped fuselages. Not worth anyone's risk.
- Anything you love — we've seen the regret. Sleep on it, we'll still be here.
Show us the scratches too.
We price a trade-in on condition and battery health, not optimism. A Lift with an honest scuff and a clear service history is worth more to us than one described as immaculate that turns up with a repaired mast base.
So send everything, including the bits you'd rather crop out. We'll quote from the photos and stand by it — the only reason a number changes on arrival is if the setup doesn't match what we were shown.
Put this in the message
- Which Lift you're on — model, generation, board size and the year you bought it, as best you know.
- Which Lift you're after — the trade value comes off that purchase, so tell us what you're moving up to.
- Battery cycle count — read it off the app if you can. On an eFoil it moves the number more than anything else.
- Any damage or repairs — what happened, who fixed it, and whether it's been in the water since.
- Photos in daylight — whole setup, plus close-ups of every mark. Don't tidy it up first.
Five minutes of effort here saves a fortnight of back-and-forth. We quote from what we can see, so the more you show us, the closer the first number is to the final one.
Straight answers.
Will you buy my used gear?
No — and it's worth being clear about it. We don't buy gear outright and we don't sell on commission. Everything we list is our own ex-demo or authorised dealer stock. The single exception is Lift, where we'll take your setup in part-exchange against a new Lift.
Why only Lift for part-exchange?
Because we're authorised Lift dealers. We can service it, get parts for it, check the battery properly and stand behind it when it goes back out. We can't do any of that for a brand we don't represent, which would mean guessing at a value and hoping — not how we'd want to price your gear or sell it to the next person.
Can I take the part-ex value in cash instead?
No. It comes off the price of a new Lift, which is the whole point of the programme — we'd rather move stock than move money. If you want cash for a Lift setup you're better off selling privately, and we won't pretend otherwise.
What's my Lift setup worth?
Condition and battery health do most of the work. Generation matters, board size matters, and a complete setup with the original controller and charger is worth more than a board on its own. Send photos and the cycle count and we'll give you a real number, usually within a couple of days.
Has the used gear been hammered?
Demo and coaching gear works harder than most private kit, and we'd rather say so than dress it up. What it also gets is rinsing after every session, a proper winter strip-down, and repairs done immediately rather than left. The grade on each listing tells you where a given item sits.
Is there a warranty on used gear?
Nothing from the manufacturer — used is sold as described, and the description is where we put the effort. That said, we've owned every item on that page, so if something turns out to have a fault we missed and didn't mention, we'll sort it out. That's the difference between buying from us and buying from a forum thread.
Have a look at what's in.
Everything off the fleet is listed and graded on the used gear page. One of each, and it moves quickly.
